Meet Mike Long
Mike Long is the co-owner, operator and on-site laser therapist of Laser Therapy Cleveland™. Laser Therapy Cleveland™ is a local health and wellness clinic started by Mike and his wife Dr. Lisa Elias. Laser Therapy Cleveland™ operates within the office space of Dr. Elias. His wife has had a successful dental practice since 1993 and she adds her experience and knowledge as the staff medical professional.
Mike has an engineering background, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron. For over 14 years he worked in the environmental engineering field. He started as a design engineer and moved his way up to project management.
His career path took a turn in a new and exciting direction when he first learned about cold laser therapy. Having a background in engineering, the science and physics of cold laser technology was extremely interesting to him. He was fascinated with discovering how red and near-infrared light could be used to improve the cellular function that could promote healing or be used to create analgesic effects for pain relief.
So, in 2013 Laser Therapy Cleveland™ Was Born!
The most rewarding aspect of performing laser therapy is that it allows Mike to directly interact with patients. Not only does he help them get healthier and feel better, but he also gets to know them on a personal level. He finds his new career path extremely satisfying in ways that his previous engineering career did not. He takes great joy in seeing patients and helping them improve their health and well-being.
Mike is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health and received multiple certifications from Thor Photomedicine Ltd. He continually enhances his education in laser therapy by attending yearly conferences and seminars, reading the latest news related to laser therapy, and by reviewing the research and developments in the field of cold laser applications.
